Picalilli
1 gallon green tomatoes
1 medium bead cabbage
3 sweet peppers (red and green)
2 large onions
� cup salt (not iodized)
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons mustard seed
1 tablespoon celery seed
1 tablespoon horseradish
1 quart vinegar
Chop or grind vegetables in food chopper. Mix in salt and let stand
3 hours. Drain well. Mix sugar, spices and vinegar and add to
vegetables. Boil 1 minute. Pack in hot jars and seal. Horseradish
may be left out. |
